TES, 18 January 2008 More than half of teachers in school sixth forms and colleges think internet plagiarism is a problem. And only just over half of respondents to an Association of Teachers and Lecturers' survey thought that students understood what counts as legitimate research and plagiarism. About a quarter did not believe their institution had a policy for dealing with the issue. Plagiarism is a serious concern for the assessment community. No matter where it happens; via the internet, books or interaction with other learners; plagiarism needs to be addressed, and the IEA is keen to help members address the issue. As well as providing anti-plagiarism information, the IEA has also teamed up with Northumbria Learning to offer members an exclusive 20% discount on various Turnitin anti-plagiarism services.
