Although over half the respondents were confident with their assessment skills and the currency of their practices, there is a clear need for assessors to be offered support. As the assessment landscape shifts, standards need to be maintained. Assessors need to receive the appropriate support and information to allow them to provide students with a valid, reliable and fair assessment of their work.
The provision of appropriate support and guidance for classroom teachers and others assessing within educational institutions is particularly important as the Assessment for Learning initiative gains pace.
